Recommended Gear
1. Your Best Self:
Well-fed, and rested. We recommend not drinking too much alcohol 12 hrs prior.
2. Windbreaker or Jacket:
It gets windy in the afternoons and cold in winter months.
3. Comfortable Pants / Padded Cycling Shorts:
This is especially important for rides of more than 1 hour.
4. Closed Toed Athletic Shoes or Aqua Shoes:
Your feel may get damp or wet.
***Do Not Wear Open Toed Sandals but Crocs are ok***
5. Head Covers:
Hats, Visors, Beanies keep the sun, cold, and wind off your face and head.
6. Sunglasses:
The sun and the glare on the water can be quite intense.
7. Sun Screen:
This is essential even when it’s cold out. The sun is very intense out on the water.
8. Water:
Most bikes are equipped with a sports water bottle holder. You will get thirsty!
Winter - Spring:
In the colder months the water is pure magic! Even if it’s sunny please be prepared for a range in temperatures (between 40F and 75F or 4.4C and 24C). It is better to be prepared with too much than to be cold out there.
Summer - Fall:
In the warmer months the waters of the bay are fantastic and even though it may be sunny it can get quite windy after 2pm. The air temperatures can change drastically and you should be prepared for range in temps which can be between 50F and 110F or 10C and 43C It is better to be prepared with too much than to be too hot or cold out there.
